Navel gazing again

I'm missing something in my life
My heart tells me.
There is a point missing in my presentation, I've forgotten the topic for my thesis
And all the proctors and auditors have caught me
Plagiarism- and from the instructors own work, no less!

I have lost the key to my roller skates, and someone keeps trying
To get me to use their diary key to fix things
But it won't fit in the lock and I really don't want to skate anymore... do I?
And the rink is so far away...

I've discovered that I'm as ham-fisted (if not moreso) as any guy I know
And I really don't know people the way I think I do
Which shouldn't be surprising, given how much people scare me
And how hard it is to make someone be real.

And speaking of reality, I think that it and I have reached a point of separation
A comfortable point to travel our disparate paths alone
And I've discovered that my path goes into deep shadow but
I can't see where it comes out in the light again and there is no map.

It's hard to monitor every thought, looking for the signs
Of madness.
And it's lonely in here, because I don't dare more than joking reference
To my biggest fears.

My Vacation

I had a most fun and interesting weekend. I went to Rochester with 2 of my household, and we went to an all day SCA fighting event. I got to see lots of people that I haven't seen in a long time, AND I managed not to get sunburnt. I was able to deliver some summer gifts, and exchanged much gossip. My roomie also armored up for the 1st time in a year, and based on his performance I've gotten him to agree to take me to fight practice at least 2 times a month during the next year. I've also decided that I'm going to be a hardbody fighting machine by this time next year.

On the down side, I got a very gentle let-down from someone that I'm interested in. I'm ok with it though, and I may enlist their help in finding me a mr/ms right(now). Sigh... If I were able to read people better, I wouldn't be feeling so embarassed right now. I think I'll change my name to Mary-Catherine Gallagher.

Interesting weekend...

So a friend of mine was teaching a class over the weekend, and had me sit in as a teaching assistant. It was pretty interesting, and I was actually able to assist in the class. My knowledge of the anatomy of limbs was invaluable.

Frankly, though, the first time as a TA in a private suspension bondage class is kinda strange, even though the naked chick was cute.

Then we all went out to dinner at the best kabob place ever.
